Our Board

John Lawrence: President
John has been an active member since 2010 and has been President of the BBPOA for the past 3 years. He provides sincere and passionate dedication, while utilizing his business, personal and community connections to ensure our private beach and community maintains a highly desirable status. His ongoing efforts contribute to the preservation of our beach and its amenities for the benefit of our community.

Mike Quackenbush: 1st Vice President
My wife, Donna, and I fell in love with our home, the beach, and the neighborhood immediately when we were looking to relocate and downsize. We joined the BBPOA as soon as we closed on our home in 2021, and very much enjoy the neighborhood and the ability to walk almost daily, especially to the beach. I am semi-retired, working part time, staying active and involved with the community. I have operated many major franchise restaurant businesses over the past 45 plus years, as a corporate management team-member and as a multi-unit franchise business owner operator. I am hoping to utilize my extensive management experience in helping the Association flourish and keeping the neighborhood our nice, quiet, safe secret.

Gregg Lhotsky: 2nd Vice President
After living in New York for 20 years, Gregg moved to the neighborhood 16 years ago seeking the small-town lifestyle and proximity to the beach that the community provides. Gregg brings his marketing and communications expertise to the board. Gregg hopes that with his help we will be able to raise the visibility of the BBPOA and reach all the members of our community. “My favorite time of the day are my cherished daily walks to the beach.”

Maureen J. Hirsch: Treasurer
Moved here from Bay Shore in July 2000. Maureen is a fiduciary accountant and worked for a law firm in NYC for 30 years. She joined the Board as Treasurer in 2007. “I have enjoyed this neighborhood from day one, neighbors stopped by to introduce themselves and made us feel welcome. I enjoy the community feel of this association; ladies night at the beach, beach picnics, people who care coming together to preserve something special.”
-
Christine ME Jaycox: Recording Secretary
Christine is the mother of 4, Grammy to 2 and pup mom to many. She moved here about 2 1/2 years ago to be closer to her dad (former BBPOA President Don Teaugue) to help him and to be a part of this community that she has been active in since her parents moved here in 1998. “I love this little community and this organization. There aren’t very many places like this around anymore and wanted to help keep it going. I wanted to help out on the board to try and get more families involved and maybe hold some of the events like in the past that we have had for everyone to enjoy.”
-
John Barnett: Corresponding Secretary
I officially moved into the area in 1973, a few years after marrying my wife, Carolyn. I was attracted to the area from the years prior, since my wife, Carolyn & her family (Stanganelli) had lived in the area since the 1940’s. The block parties, neighbor comradery and the beauty of the neighborhood with the beach, all factored into our decision to live here. Realizing the benefit of the BBPOA to our neighborhood, we joined the Association immediately, and regularly supported it. In 2006, I was elected the Board as Recording Secretary, and continued in that role until 2011. Our family never took for granted what this community offers which is the reason I became and am still involved in the BBPOA.
